Lactation cookies

A tasty way to boost milk supply

This one’s for the breastfeeding / pumping mamas out there.

I know I felt so much pressure and anxiety over producing enough milk for my son. My feeding journery was a journey. My son wouldn’t latch for a while so for the first two and a half months of his life I exclusively pumped. Since I was a first time mom I had no idea just how much extra work that was. In hindsight it was a HUGE one that I’m not sure I’d put myself thorugh again.

With the pumping you can see exactly what you’re producing which had this anxiety producing effect of quantifying what you’re providing for your baby, which I found very stressful. So in my researching and need to allieviate the pressure, I came across a reciepe for lactation cookies that not only tasted good, but I feel had a little bit of a boost to my milk supply. Was there a placebo effect? Most likely. But regardless they tasted so good and may have helped, so I saw no hurt in giving them a go.

Here’s my favorite recipe I made time and time again for myself and for other close mom friends too who also loved them. They make a great postpartum gift also!
